Nearly 90% of a dog's attitude toward people, other animals, and the environment are formed in the first 16 weeks of your new puppy's life. In order to make a smooth transition to a domesticated lifestyle the puppy must receive clear signals. As a new puppy owner you must know how to effectively communicate with your dog. Early socialization through puppy preschool is the key to domesticating your puppy, and a wonderful foundation for successful obedience training if you choose to continue training.
Requirements:
- Between the ages of 8-14 weeks
- In possession of dog for 10-14 days and examined by a licensed Veterinarian.
- Have a proper shot record from Veterinarian before first weekly session
- Be able to attend 3 weekly sessions with your dog prior to 16 weeks of age
- Be willing to participate in Puppy Preschool with your puppy

How much will it cost?
For $55 you receive a private puppy consultation and three puppy preschool sessions. Upon completion of puppy preschool you may choose to continue training with Circleville Pet Services llc, if so the entire cost of puppy preschool will be applied to your purchase of any of our four obedience programs.
What should I expect during our consultation?
During our private puppy consultation we will discuss many different problems or concerns you may have with your dog, and how to address these issues in the future. This one on one session is conducted by a certified professional trainer who can offer direction in raising your puppy according to his/her personality type, breed, and temperament. In our consultation we will focus on the two biggest complaints of puppy owners....play biting and house training. During this private consultation we will also offer behavior counseling in regards to chewing, jumping up, walking on a leash, and answer any other questions you may have regarding your puppy. Our consultation typically lasts at or near one hour and is intended to properly prepare you for puppy preschool. After your private puppy consultation, your family and your new puppy will be invited to join our weekly group sessions.
What to expect at our weekly session?
Our small weekly sessions typically last from 1-1.5 hours depending on the number of participants. We believe in keeping our class sizes relatively small to allow individual assistance in many of the handling and socialization exercises. Through the guidance of our staff and the participation of other puppy owners, you will learn a great deal about socialization, confidence building, proper handling, basic problem solving, and other owner-educational topics.
How do I Begin?
The first step is to contact our office at 740-477-8907 and request a private puppy consultation. After our consultation you must have the following to attend the first weekly session:
- Date of puppy possession
- Estimated/ known birthday
- Must have had possession for at least 10-14 days prior to beginning classes
- Puppy must be in good health and had at least the first round of vaccinations one week prior to your first session
- Proof of vaccination must be presented in the form of a shot record from a licensed Veterinarian
After completing three sessions of puppy preschool you are considered a graduate of puppy preschool. You may continue to participate until your puppy is 16 weeks of age. At 16 weeks of age you may wish to consider continuing your dog's education by pursuing one of our professional obedience programs. Remember that the fee of puppy preschool may be applied to any future obedience training upon completion of puppy preschool.
